The 2nd India AMR Innovation Workshop under the aegis of the India Antimicrobial Resistance Innovation Hub (IAIH) was held on 26th February 2026 in New Delhi. The workshop was organised by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) with support from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA), and served as an important platform for convening national and international stakeholders to advance India’s response to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
A keynote address was delivered by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to Government of India, highlighted the need for a coordinated, multi-sectoral strategy, with a focus on developing affordable and context-relevant solutions. The plenary address by Dr (Mrs.) Parvinder Maini, Scientific Secretary, Office of the PSA emphasized the operationalisation of the One Health approach and noted the progress made under IAIH, including support to over 60 innovations across therapeutics, diagnostics, and devices. A plenary address was also delivered by Dr Renu Swarup, Former Secretary, Department of Biotechnology. Dr Hafsa Ahmad, Scientist ‘D’ from the Office of the PSA, participated in a panel discussion on Top AMR Challenges and Innovation priorities.
The programme included innovation showcases, announcements of strategic partnerships, and focused panel discussions. It also marked the release of a compendium documenting innovations across human, animal, and environmental health sectors. The deliberations reinforced the need for sustained, coordinated, and policy-aligned efforts to strengthen India’s innovation-led response to AMR.
