Varas Duggu

Varas Duggu is a management and communication professional with experience across government and private retail sectors. He currently works as a Communications Associate at the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, where he executes the Office’s digital media communication strategies for national science and technology policy initiatives. His work spans content writing, campaign development, platform management, trend analysis, and event coverage, engaging diverse audiences and amplifying India’s science and innovation narrative.

Previously, Varas was a Young Professional at the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) under the Government of India’s Department of Biotechnology, contributing to the Make in India facilitation cell for the biotech sector and coordinating flagship initiatives such as Global Bio-India 2024, enhancing the visibility of India’s biotech startup ecosystem. He contributed to the India BioEconomy Report, coordinated outreach and branding for Global Bio-India 2023 and 2024, and supported the Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) scheme and other BIRAC’s Strategic Partnership initiatives, strengthening the Biotech sector.

With earlier experience as a Sport Leader at Decathlon Sports India, Varas developed strong interpersonal, sales, public relations and community-building skills. His multidisciplinary background in the retail industry and biotechnology ecosystem equips him with the perspective to communicate complex ideas into impactful narratives.
