Mriganko Das

I am a science and innovation professional with over a decade of experience spanning biotechnology research, strategic technology policy, startup ecosystem development, and national mission implementation. I am currently serving as Programme Specialist, Strategic Alliance Division at the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (Government of India) & FSID, Indian Institute of Science. 

I have played a key role in mentoring and conducting due diligence for deep technology-based startups under theDepartment of Science & Technology (GoI). I have also contributed to the coordination and implementation of theNational Quantum Mission with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and DST (GoI), and also served as a Consultant in Emerging & Strategic Technologies at the Ministry of External Affairs (GoI).

During my academic journey, I have held the role of an Assistant Professor, actively contributing to the advancement of biotechnology through both research and educational initiatives. I have provided mentorship to numerous students at both master's and bachelor's levels, fostering the development of future talent.

I hold a Ph.D. in Bioprocess Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Assam University. My academic and research background includes biotechnology, synthetic biology, bioenergy, and bioprocess optimization, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and a granted patent in biofuel production.

I am also an award-winning professional and have been recognized as an Innovation Ambassador (MoE), Agricultural Entrepreneur of the Year (2019), and recipient of several national fellowships and honors. I combine scientific expertise with strategic vision to foster research collaborations among academia, industry, PSUs, and government, driving innovation-led growth and technology diplomacy.
