overview
This cold storage system harnesses energy from Pico hydropower units to reduce post-harvest losses and extend the shelf life of perishable produce in remote, hilly regions. By integrating control mechanisms and enabling surplus power use, it strengthens rural livelihoods. A 5 kW unit has been successfully deployed in Bajlari, Uttarkashi by RuTAG, IIT Roorkee.
