overview

CSIR-SERC has developed an indigenous Emergency Restoration System (ERS) for power transmission lines. In case of tower failure, ERS enables rapid power restoration via a bypass corridor until permanent repair. This “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative also serves as an import substitute. Two patents have been filed in India, the USA, and Canada. The technology has been successfully licensed to M/s Advait Infratech Limited, Ahmedabad, with orders from POWERGRID for J&K and Ladakh.
