Toxoplasmosis, caused by Toxoplasma gondii, affects humans and livestock,
causing abortions and major economic losses. Endemic in India (30–40%
seroprevalence), it poses significant public health risks. NIAB, Hyderabad, has developed a rapid, low-cost point-of-care (PoC) diagnostic test for detecting Toxoplasma gondii antibodies in humans and animals. The test provides results within minutes, supporting field-level surveillance.
