overview

The low-cost Ready-to-Fruit (RTF) mushroom bag, developed at ICAR-DMR under the Ghar-Ghar Mushroom initiative, provides an easy and affordable method for mushroom cultivation. With a production cost of only ₹30–40 per bag, each unit yields about 600–800 g of mushrooms, making it highly profitable and suitable for household-level mushroom farming. The cultivation technique is simple, similar to oyster mushroom production, involving substrate wetting and pasteurisation before bag preparation.
