Enhanced Agro-technology for Lemongrass (CKP-25) – Essential Oil Yield

CKP-25 and Kalam are interspecific hybrid strains of Cymbopogon khasianus and Cymbopogon pendulus, developed by CSIR–IIIM. These varieties yield higher essential oil content than conventional strains, with 0.45–1.00% oil recovery and 82–85% Citral. Farmers are supported by the institute with distillation services for oil extraction.
