CSR 101 is a MAS-derived NIL of Pusa 44 variety, developed by combining two bacterial blight resistance genes (xa13 and Xa21) and Saltol QTL for salt tolerance. It is semi-dwarf, non-lodging, and offers superior grain quality, yielding 3.5 t/ha under alkaline, 3.9 t/ha under saline stress, and 5.5 t/ha under normal conditions. Recommended for time-sown irrigated ecologies of Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
