This technology reproduces replicates the traditional Bidar fort clay-sand essential for Bidriware’s iconic black–silver finish using a lab-treated nitrogenous compound. Developed by RuTAG IIT-Madras, this innovation preserves the heritage craft, ensures uninterrupted production, and safeguards artisan livelihoods. The technology enables sustainable, heritage-compliant metal coloring with consistent quality. Six-month training and handholding support are available.
