overview

ICAR-IISWC’s circular agriculture model integrates white button mushroom cultivation with the recycling of spent mushroom substrate (SMS) as organic manure for hill vegetable farming. This zero-waste system improves soil fertility, increases crop yields, and reduces carbon emissions. It enhances climate resilience, supports sustainable livelihoods, and provides a scalable model for hill ecosystems.
