The SK-4 turmeric variety, developed from the local Kadapa variety through clonal selection, delivers high rhizome yield (56 t/ha) and finger weight (736 g/plant). It outperforms checks like Krishna, Rajapuri, Salem, and PDKV-Waigaon, tolerates leaf spot and rhizome rot, and has high curcumin content (4.64%) with excellent colour values (L: 64.63, A: 22.31, B: 94.15). Widely adopted by farmers in Maharashtra.
