Call for Proposal for Green Bengal Innovation Contest by SwitchON Foundation

The Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India is facilitating the Green Bengal Innovation Contest by SwitchON Foundation. Green Bengal Innovation Network (GBIN) is a unique initiative in the space of green entrepreneurship in the state of West Bengal. Backed by the Department of Power, Government of West Bengal, GBIN is a joint initiative between SwitchON Foundation, India, a non-profit working in sustainability, Network for Global Innovation, California, and SED Fund, The Netherlands.

Green Bengal Innovation Contest by GBIN invites applications from individuals/startups/grassroots workers to showcase and demonstrate their green ideas to turn them into viable business ventures. The contest requires applicants to indicate the problem they wish to address and the suggested solution for the same through a service/product/technology which could be implemented in West Bengal.

Received applications will go through a review process, conducted by SwitchON Foundation from where shortlisted applications will undergo a three-month training program on a range of topics required for jump-starting a business. The training will be conducted by subject matter experts from the field through webinars, workshops, and guest meets. At the end of the training process, shortlisted applicants will be required to pitch their business model and value proposition to a jury from which the final winner will be selected.

Note: The contest is open to individuals/startups/grassroots workers pan India. However, the green idea should be aligned with the needs of the state of West Bengal and the implementation plan should be in the state.

The last date to apply is December 30, 2022.
