The India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre has announced the results of India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Challenge 2021. The innovation challenge invited start-ups with innovative solutions to re-imagine the healthcare delivery in India.

The themes for the challenge were Med-Tech, Digital Tools/ Platforms, Point of Care Devices, Home Healthcare, Tele-Medicine, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Patient Awareness, Disease Prevention, Early Diagnosis, Treatment, Disease Management, Patient Follow-up and Education & Digital Learning. The challenge covered diverse problem statements like Diabetes, Cardiovascular, Kidney and Lung diseases - solutions within awareness, screening, diagnosis, treatment and disease management; Cancer / Oncology - solutions within awareness, screening, diagnosis, treatment and disease management; Neurology, Epilepsy, Parkinson's and related conditions - solutions within awareness, screening, diagnosis, treatment and disease management; COVID - solutions within awareness and disease management; Remote monitoring solutions; Patient education and awareness solutions; Electronic Health Record solutions; Point of care devices and solutions to improve accessibility of healthcare to remote population including tribal areas etc.

About India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre:

The India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre is a tripartite collaboration between the Swedish Trade Commissioner’s Office, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS Delhi) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur), with active participation from ICMR, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare - India, Ministry of Health and Social Affairs - Sweden, Startup India, AstraZeneca and NASSCOM. The India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre is envisioned to develop an ecosystem of open innovation that start-ups and the healthcare delivery stakeholders can use to collaborate and address current and future challenges in the healthcare sector in India. This platform will enable development and scale up of solutions through frugal innovation for affordable and accessible healthcare in line with the objectives of the Government of India.
