Matchmaking Event on Battery Recycling Technologies for Electric Vehicles organized by India-EU TTC Working
Group 2 (WG 2) on the Green & Clean Energy Technologies.

The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India announces the Matchmaking Event on Battery Recycling Technologies for Electric Vehicles, under the aegis of India-EU TTC Working Group 2 on Green & Clean Energy Technologies. This event is part of a broader effort to promote sustainable innovation and forge stronger economic relations with the European Union.

The matchmaking event, scheduled for 20th June, 2024 (tentative) provides a platform for Indian startups in the field of Electric Vehicle (EV) Battery Recycling Technologies to pitch their innovative solutions and engage with venture capitalists/solution adopters. The objective is to forge strategic partnerships and explore potential investment avenues, reflecting the shared commitment of India and the EU to a sustainable and greener future.

India's burgeoning EV battery recycling market, expected to leap from 2 GWh in 2023 to 128 GWh by 2030, represents a significant growth sector. The matchmaking event is geared towards supporting Indian startups that are pioneering in this space, providing them an opportunity to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and solutions to a global audience.

Benefits of the event:

• Validation of the potential solution for application in the Indian/EU market
• Opportunity to pitch to stakeholders from the Battery Recycling Ecosystem
• Matchmaking with solution adopters, influencers, policymakers, and potential clients in the Battery Recycling Ecosystem (in total six start-ups will be selected for the matchmaking event).  
• From the six start-ups, three start-ups will be selected to visit Electric vehicle battery recycling facilities and meet with stakeholders in the EU and receive financial support for that trip (travel and subsistence) as a reward.
• Access and insight into the broader EV landscape of India and EU

This initiative is in line with India's environmental goals and its pursuit of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), as it facilitates the exchange of knowledge and expertise, contributing to the circular economy and reducing the environmental impact of EV batteries.
