Dr Hafsa Ahmad

Dr Hafsa Ahmad holds a bachelors and masters degree in Pharmaceutical sciences. She won the prestigious Innovative Thesis Award for her M.Pharm dissertation sponsored by Troika Pharmaceuticals and MSME, GOI besides several other academic awards that she has to her credit. She earned her doctorate at CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute Lucknow. Her doctoral work largely dealt with formulation strategies for neuroprotection in experimental stroke and preclinical development of an anti-stroke lead for which she received the prestigious INSA medal for young scientists in health sciences. She worked as a Principal Investigator on a SERB funded project at CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow on a post doctoral assignment. She has around 30 publications in peer reviewed journals of international repute, besides several patent applications to her credit. She has previously served at the National Biopharma Mission and at Mission Ind-CEPI; the Indian arm of Coalition of Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, housed at BIRAC, GOI where she handled assignments of national importance. She was the officer-in-charge for facilitation for expeditious clinical trials and access for COVID vaccines like SPUTNIK V and ZyCOV-D. She has also served at the Health & Family Welfare vertical at NITI Aayog, GOI where she handled the Pharma, Med-Tech and Research & Innovation portfolios.
