Shri B. Mani - One of the senior-most officers of the Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service (CSSS), having rendered more than thirty six years of service in different Ministries/Departments especially the Department of Science and Technology (DST).
Has a Masters in Business Administration with a specialisation in Human Resource Management.
Started his career as Steno ‘D” in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in 1986
Deputation as 1st PA to Shri T N Seshan, the then Member(Science), Planning Commission in 1990 and Chief Election Commissioner of India, during 1991. He has worked with five eminent Science Secretaries, namely, Prof P Rama Rao, Prof VS Ramamurthy, Dr. T Ramasami, Prof K VijayRaghavan and Prof Ashutosh Sharma, in various positions such as Personal Assistant, Private Secretary, Desk Staff Officer and Principal Private Secretary.
During 2016-2019, he has also served as PPS to Additional Secretary (Urban Affairs) (Dr Sameer Sharma) / National Mission Director (Smart Cities Mission) and Sr.PPS to Additional Secretary (UD) Shri Sanjay Murthy in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA)
Shri. Mani is currently the Principal Staff Officer since 2019, working with the Scientific Secretary in the Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India which aims to provide pragmatic and objective advice to the Prime Minister and the cabinet in matters of Science and Technology.
