IBM Sustainability Accelerator program

IBM has shared its accelerator program with the O/o Principal Scientific Adviser.

Aims of the program:
  • Support not-for-profit organizations’ initiatives that have critical unmet technical needs but are primed to directly benefit people especially vulnerable to environmental threats (e.g. small-holder farmers; communities that experienced extreme weather; heavily polluted areas; etc.)
  • Provide pro bono access to advanced tech and expertise, typically out of reach to those organizations but needed to expedite urgently needed capabilities.

IBM’s strategic support with rapid, low-cost impact opportunities include:
  • Data and AI to create a sandbox to build from,
  • Consulting to ensure organizations know how to use IBM technical assets, and
  • Modest cash grants to ensure the sustainability projects are maintainable within organizations
