Prof. Alejandro Adem, President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), called on Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, and Scientific Secretary, Dr (Mrs.) Parvinder Maini, to discuss priority areas for engagement between India and Canada.The discussions explored opportunities for further engagement across emerging domains including Quantum Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Electric Vehicles and Clean Energy Transition, Deep Ocean and Blue Economy, and Health and Life Sciences. The delegations also exchanged views on frameworks that can support sustained and future-oriented cooperation, including the Australia-Canada-India Technology and Innovation (ACITI) initiative, the Chief Science Advisers’ Roundtable (CSAR), the Global Research Council (GRC), talent mobility programmes, startup and innovation networks, investment linkages, and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
