An introductory engagement meeting between the UK Catapult Network and India’s S&T Clusters was successfully held on 30 April 2026, aimed at fostering ecosystem-level collaboration and technology partnerships. This engagement builds on the UK–India Research and Innovation Corridor (RIC) announced during the “First International Conference on S&T Clusters” held on 4–5 December 2025 at New Delhi. The meeting was co-led by Dr. Vishal Choudhary, Scientist-F, Office of PSA, and Mr. Jack Landers from the UK Embassy, and saw participation from all eight S&T Clusters along with representatives from five UK Catapults: CPI, Energy Systems, Digital, Cell Therapy and Satellite Applications. Discussions focused on identifying high-impact collaboration domains, including smart agriculture, advanced medical technologies, satellite-enabled applications in healthcare and agriculture, energy grid decarbonisation, EV battery innovation, and next-generation healthtech, pharmaceuticals, and sustainable materials. Opportunities for joint testbeds, co-development platforms, and startup–industry linkages were also explored. The next phase of this collaboration, including detailed plans, priority areas, and implementation pathways, will be finalised through subsequent discussions. The engagement is expected to evolve towards thematic working groups, joint project identification, and pilot initiatives, supporting structured pathways for co-innovation, technology validation, and translation into real-world applications. This collaboration is expected to accelerate cross-border R&D, strengthen industrial partnerships, and create scalable innovation outcomes for both countries.
